Background:
Trysta was born on Betazoid on February 14, 2352. Her mother was Bajoran, her father Betazoid. He was named the Betazoid ambassador to Bajor shortly after Trysta was born, so that's where he moved his family. Unfortunately, this was during the years of the Cardassian occupation and they ultimately ended up in a prison camp, her father imprisoned separately since he was not Bajoran.
| So Trysta and her mother existed fearfully in the camp until one day, a troup of Cardassian soldiers ransacked their camp, killing everyone and destroying everything. Her mother, Trysta in her arms, tried desperately to escape, only to be shot down mercilessly by the Cardassian commander. Later, as told by her grandfather as he lay wounded and afraid to let the cardassian know he was still alive, the Commander picked her up and took her off, leaving her with the Vedeks in a nearby temple. Here she was cared for until relatives came to claim her and raise her. |  |

Trysta thrived on Bajor, until such time as her latent Betazoid powers kicked in. Then she began having a hard time dealing with it so she was sent to Betazed to live with her father's brother and his family. She never got along with anyone except her uncle. She attended school and learned how to use her limited mental powers. Eventually she attended the university and became interested in psychology and politics. Though she studied both, she soon became quite a prolific publician and was soon on her way to a brilliant political career. |
She entered and was elected Governor of New Edinburgh and now looks forward to her new job and life.

Trysta Styraan is somewhat of a loner, though not necessarily by choice. She is headstrong and demanding and sometimes tends to intimidate any would-be suitors or even acquaintances. However, once someone gets to know her, they quickly find out that she's really quite a wonderful and kind person. She's just confident and independent. She enjoys strolling through gardens and enjoying the scenic beauty of the countryside surrounding New Edinburgh. She will often take what little free time she has and wander the forests, looking for the rumoured ruins of the civilization that was supposed to have lived there eons ago. She also enjoys listening to music, reading mysteries and poetry, and sculpting in clay. She's also notoriously good at poker. |
