L'anna D'avu was born on the harsh farming colony on Sar'ti VI. She grew up with her parents and six older brothers on a tiny farm. She began her love of piloting as a cropduster on her father's farm. She expanded to dust the neighboring farms in the area and soon gained quite a reputation. One day a recruiter for the Jr. Stagnorian Rangers heard about her and went to see for himself. At the time she was only 13. She joined the Jr. Rangers and was soon on her way to becoming one of the best pilots of her time. After the Jr. Rangers, she attended Ranger Academy, graduating with honours at the top of her class. Her first assignment was to the SSS Sarin'da where she once again excelled as a top quality fighter pilot. Soon she was transferred to the SSS Larina, the only Stagnorian Carrier in the Alpha Quadrant. Here she soon earned her Golden Wings for her extraordinary skills as a fighter pilot. Here is also where she suffered a dibilitating head injury while attempting to land her wounded fighter and was grounded. She had suffered damage to her inner ear affecting her balance. She was given stabilizer implants, however she could no longer stand the high G forces required to pilot a space fighter. Reduced to a desk job and
hating it, L'anna applied for the Stagnorian Ranger/Starfleet exchange program. She was
then assigned to Starbase 211 in the Giles Asteroid Belt as a Shuttle/Runabout Pilot.
There she proved herself more than capable of her duties. After several years there,
she was granted limited flight status by the Stagnorian Rangers and assigned to command a
small 'freighter'/fighter, the SSS Miri'dar at the new Stagnorian Cooperative Colony, New
Edinburgh. L'anna is a quiet-unless-she's-spoken-to tom-boyish kind of gal, a result of having grown up with six older brothers. She takes no nonsense and has even been known to bust a man's nose for making a pass at her. But deep within that hard-core military shell of hers she's a pure female and very mushy and romantic at heart. It will just take someone special to win her trust before she exhibits that part of her. She is also rather bitter about having been reduced from one of the Stagnorian Rangers' best fighter pilots to flying runabouts and shuttles. She is still constantly trying to prove that she will always be a pilot and the best the Stagnorian Rangers ever had. L'anna likes soft jazz music and reads a lot of books. She has just recently gotten into books about earth mythology. She wants to learn more about the people she is now living and working with. She firmly believes that knowledge is power. Sometimes, though, she can come across as almost aloof, unconcerned. This is just because she is Stagnorian and is more or less a grunt at heart. Duty comes first, personal interests later. |
