Background:

Born on the Earth colony of Turkana 4 in 2349 his parents
eventually took him back to Earth after the colonie's long civil war.  He
enrolled in Starfleet Academy at the age of 18
despite objections by his father, Harold William Baruse.  His mother, Emily Jones Baruse, supported him, as his father eventually did after his
first year at the Academy.  Graduating at the age of 22 his
first post was as Security officer on board the Galaxy Class Starship USS
Britannia.  There he received the rank of Lieutenant JG after 3 years of
excellent service.  He then transfered to the USS Taney in 2374, an
Excelsior Refit Class vessel where he served through the Dominion war
until 2377.  At the age of 28  he transfered to the USS New York, A Nebula
Class starship.  He was promoted to Lieutenant and then to Lieutenant
Commander in the 6 years he served on that ship.  He served as Chief
Tactical Officer until 2383, when he was transfered to the Britannia once
again as XO with the rank of full Commander.  When his Captain was killed
in the line of duty in a border skirmish with the Romulans he was awarded
the Pike Medal of Honor for managing to save the ship and remaining crew.
Under Admiral Nechayev he was made full Captain and given command of the
USS Tempest, where he remains in service today.


Personality:

Baruse is an elegant diplomat, capable of healing almost any
solvable situation with Diplomacy. He is also an
extremely capable tactical officer.
